In my opinion there are good things about homecoming and also bad things. To start with the good things, it's always fun to put on your boogie shoes and loose some calories at the ssame time. It is a very healthy thing to do. Also it creates a lot of opportunities to become better friends with the school community. This year is going to be a little bit more exciting than usual, seeing that Bloggin' Beau and have been preparing to get our groove on. We have been discretly practicing salsa and Thriller dances.
Though I think the dance is extremly fun, I think some of the things that it promotes are wrong. First off the music choices sometimes do not promote the best messages. Also a lot of the time people get caught up in the materialism, like the dresses and suits.
Overall I think homecomin' is a great experience and think that you can have a lot of fun with the right mindset.

I agree about the music choices, the songs that are played at Homecoming provoke "bumping and grinding," along with group swearing. Although I think it is fun to dress up, everybody likes to look pretty and handsome from time to time.
ReplyDeleteTrue the music is never going to please everyone, nothing really can. I love homecoming, just the drama and sometimes superficial attitude of people ruins the true meaning of it, but that's just my opinon.

ReplyDeleteI agree that the music does not always promote the best messages but I also think that if we went to any other school, it would be a lot worse. Being a Christian school, our music is somewhat filtered which doesn't happen at a public school... teachers could care less about what goes on at dances.
